On a desktop without any audio devices attached, you can see the placeholders for both input and output views. It appears that on the output view we're using the -muted status icon, but on the input view, we're using the regular device icon.
Expected Behavior
We should probably be consistent here and use either both status icons or both device icons. I also wonder if we should be using a -missing status like the battery icon since the device isn't actually muted, as seen by the sound indicator which is happy to display the volume level for a non-existent device
