Not sure what all components this would affect, so filing here to start. It might be handy to supply a keyboard shortcut to open the notifications by default, i.e. Super + N to execute wingpanel -t messages.

I suggest the following Ctrl/⌘ + W as the new default for opening the notification center.
It corresponds to wingpanel, and as added don't gets confused with another commonly used key
