Quick Win Analytics Features

Low-complexity, high-impact analytics components for /archives. Each is a self-contained component that can be built independently.

1. Friendly Fire Index

  • What: accidentals / kills ratio as sparkline per season, expandable to time-series
  • Fields: accidentals, kills from h1_live_snapshot
  • Why: All 4 debate participants proposed this — universally interesting derived metric
  • Viz: Sparkline per season card, expandable to line chart overlay

2. Season Records & Superlatives

  • What: Stat cards for all-time extremes across seasons
  • Examples: "Most kills: Season 3", "Peak players: 12,847 (Season 5)", "Worst friendly fire: Season 8", "Fastest event won: 2h 14m"
  • Fields: All h1_live_snapshot aggregates + h1_event durations
  • Viz: Grid of stat cards with season attribution

3. Faction Threat Ranking

  • What: Per-faction win rates (defend success, attack success) across all seasons
  • Fields: enemy, defend_events, successful_defend_events, attack_events, successful_attack_events
  • Viz: Horizontal bar chart, faction-colored (Bugs=#E8822A, Cyborgs=#8B2D2D, Illuminate=#7EC8E3)

4. Accuracy Trend

  • What: hits / shots ratio per season, showing if community aim improves over time
  • Fields: hits, shots from h1_live_snapshot
  • Viz: Line chart across seasons

5. Shots per Planet

  • What: Total ammunition expended per planet liberated — a fun "big number" stat
  • Fields: shots, completed_planets
  • Viz: Big bold formatted number with context

  • Size: M (4-8h total for all 5)
  • Per feature: ~1-2h each
