Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Status bar item is not configurable.

Describe the solution you'd like
Add status bar item settings: position (left or right), "always visible", priority, and tooltip. Proper defaults should be defined. Documentation should be updated.

Describe alternatives you've considered
None 😄 This is necessary.
