I see the same bar on my XS Max 12.1.1, same versions as above.

Also, on the homepage I see an ad

I have the same issue and I have paid for ad removal. White bar on the iPhone XS Max using Chimera jailbreak. iOS 12.1.1 beta 3

Like iPollox mentions above, I also show Ads on the homepage.

FWIW, I have an iPad Pro 9.7" iOS 10.2.1 and I paid for ad removal and it worked exactly as expected.

So this appears to be an iPhone specific issue possibly.
