Brag Diary
How I Have Used My Brag Diary to Record My Progress
I have used my Brag Diary as a structured and consistent way to reflect on my learning journey throughout the course. Each time I update it, I review what I have worked on over the past weeks and identify specific challenges I faced, what I achieved, and how I grew as a developer. This process helps me slow down and recognise progress that I might otherwise overlook, especially when I’m focused on learning new skills or completing projects.
By documenting my achievements—whether it’s understanding a new concept, completing a project, or overcoming a difficult technical problem—I am building a record of concrete examples that show my development over time. This has helped boost my confidence as I can clearly see how far I have come from when I first started. It has also made me more aware of the skills I have gained, such as problem-solving, debugging, working with new tools, and adapting to different technologies.
I also use the diary to make my work more visible. Writing down the projects I’ve completed or the new tools I’ve learned helps me prepare for future interviews, especially situational or competency-based questions. The diary acts as a personal archive that I can refer back to when I need real examples of challenges I’ve overcome or achievements I am proud of.
Overall, the Brag Diary has become a valuable habit for monitoring my progress, celebrating my wins, and staying motivated. It also serves as a resource I can continue using even after the course, whether for interviews, performance reviews, or simply tracking my ongoing growth as a developer.
