It covers our progress from last 2 weeks and also shows our plans for next 2 weeks.

Development Status

• continue working on 2.0.4 fixes release
• planned released date is middle of June

Done (Sprint retrospective)

• analogRead() returns bogus values when i2s DAC running - closed as Expired
• ESP32C3 lib of ad-read error - merged
• ESP32-C3 can not connect to WiFi AP (AUTH_EXPIRE) - solved
• I2C slave cannot send data containing own address - merged
• Successive calls to readBytes() trigger a timeout

Under investigation

• Unexpected light sleep and deep sleep behaviour on ESP32-S3 - tested, needs more investigation
• WiFi connection unstable after updating to 2.0.X - needs more investigation
• S3 sketch fails to execute when built on Linux (Ubuntu) but executes perfectly when built on Windows. Unexpected Maker S3 boards - needs investigation
• Hardware serial sometimes doesn't send every data
• WebServer::args() ignores empty parameters
• Peripheral Manager - Specification - feature description done, currently under design shaping. More details can be found here

In Progress (longer term)

• MDNS special packet from Android App crashes and reboots ESP32/ESP32-S2 - Awaiting backport to ESP-IDF v4.4
• Native USB CDC hangs up on ESP32-S2 after about 320 characters - still shaping (internal tracking)
• I2C Frequency - done in ESP-IDF, awaiting backport to ESP-IDF v4.4
• Add default 10MHz SD card frequency for SD SPI - shaping (internal tracking)
• ip_napt_enable_no defined in lwip/lwip_napt.h, but not there in precompiled lib - will be fixed in ESP-IDF v4.4.2
• I2C Master Wire.requestFrom timeout not obeyed, takes a whole second to read when slave is not present - internal shaping in ESP-IDF
• WiFi poor performance
• Investigate UART/CDC in all SoC

Selected for Development (Next Sprint)

• function setBatteryLevel() in BLEHIDDevice.cpp is invalid - In review
• Arduino Lib-Builder issues and PRs review
• LittleFS Mount Failure on ESP32-C3
• ESP32C3 has SPIFFS mount failure under arduino-esp32 v2.0.3

Community and Documentation progress

Done

• Added partition table tutorial - Merged
• Added USB DFU and CDC tools guide - In Review (ready to be merged)

Tasks Selected for Development in the Documentation (long term)

• Evalute "Type: For reference" issues and add them to documentation
• Documentation: tracking issue for filesystem-related libraries API reference
• New docs theme based on ESP-IDF style - In progress (long term)
• Create a new section to add community-recommended links
