Authentications issues despite correctly configuring variables and secrets.

I've added these variables and secrets as per the error I received.

My dataforseo api is correct.

Where am I going wrong?

Two things going on here and they're unrelated, so worth fixing them separately.

1. TEAM_DOMAIN needs the https:// on the front. The code runs it through new URL() (src/middleware/ensure-user/cloudflareAccess.ts), which throws on a bare hostname. So your-team.cloudflareaccess.com fails but https://your-team.cloudflareaccess.com works. When it throws you just get the generic "auth is not configured" card, which makes it look like the variable isn't set at all.

2. DATAFORSEO_API_KEY isn't the key from the DataForSEO dashboard. It's the base64 of login:password, so your DataForSEO email and password joined with a colon, then base64'd. If you pasted the key straight in, that banner stays up even when the rest is fine.

Do the TEAM_DOMAIN one first, the auth failure masks everything else. Shout if it still fails after that and I'll dig further.

Separately, this was harder to debug than it needed to be.

The server already builds the right message for this case (TEAM_DOMAIN must be a full https URL like https://your-team.cloudflareaccess.com), but toClientError in src/server/lib/errors.ts throws the message away and keeps only the code, so the UI falls back to the generic "follow the README setup steps" text.

The Open Setup Guide button on that card also points at #cloudflare-deployment--access-setup, and there's no heading by that name in the README. The real guide is docs/SELF_HOSTING_CLOUDFLARE.md, which does document the full-URL form.

@bensenescu I can put up a small PR for both if you want. The link fix is trivial. For the message I'd only let AUTH_CONFIG_MISSING carry its detail through rather than changing toClientError across the board, since I assume the stripping is deliberate.

Thanks. I did this also making sure the dataforseo api key was base64 encoded with login:password. See below what I'm seeing:

How do i change the auth mode to google as I've already added the client ID and client secret. The cloudflare access isn't working for me.

Hey @chazchenko and @7wenty7,

Sorry for the delay getting to this and appreciate you two troubleshooting.

Instead of iterating on making this confusing process smoother, I switched to use Alchemy which should make it much simpler to deploy.

Benefits:

• You never need to go into the Cloudflare UI
• It sets up Cloudflare Access for you
• Better validation logic to catch these issues earlier

Here are the instructions, it would be awesome if you could test it out and give more feedback if you run into any problems.
