Hello,
I have been using vlsub for the past few years, it's an awesome tool and thank you for developing it!
However, I recently reformatted my pc and installed vlc 3.0, x64. Vlsub did find subtitles (research), but hung on the download complete. At the folder, a null srt file was created and there was a .gz file with the actual srt file in it. I tried reinstalling vlc, and downloading another copy of vlsub. Finally, I downloaded the x86 version of vlc and everything worked correctly. I did not keep any logs, however if you wish I could replicate the results.
PC: windows 10 pro, intel i7-6700k, 16gb ram, samsung ssd, msi r9-390 gpu. If there are any questions, I will be happy to help!
-Chris

If you check the other latest issues, you'll see that this issue is caused by either vlc removing or changing the zip module, so vlsub no longer unzips the files.

and seems like the developer is not reading these so use older version of vlc

@Themivoc seems like they fixed the issue.

+Themivoc so the newer build’s x64 version works with the vlsub plugin?

same issue on the mac. vlc creates a null .srt file and I have to extract the .gz file to get the actual subs. using vlc 3.0.1 and vlsub 0.10.2

Update: I have downloaded the latest nightly build, the x64 version for Windows 10 x64, and it works perfectly. I noticed that the vlsub version is 11.0, in contrast to the stable release's 10.2. Maybe if I encounter any problems with vlc nightly versions I will copy the vlsub version to the stable vlc release.

Yes, with the 4.x nightly and VLsub 0.11 the automatic unpacking is now working for me again. With the first nightlys it didnt work, but seems they fixed it now. VLC doesnt show me the actual version, seems to be from Apr 26th.
