I've had an account on OpenSubtitles.org for over a year.
By entering my Username and Password in the Configuration, I was able to download without a problem.

I'm Opensubtitles.org user since 2017, using VLSub 0.11.1 on VLC 3.0.20 and I'm having this issue.

I spoke too soon.
The first time after entering my login credentials, it did work.
Now, I'm seeing the issue again.
If it remains an issue, I'll visit their site (or https://subscene.com/) to download subtitles.

Same issue here, even if I am connected to my account, I can't get access to the subtitles

I think you must be VIP user to access their new API https://forum.opensubtitles.org/viewtopic.php?t=17930

Long time user of VLSub, I'm very sad to see OpenSubtitles has monetized their API.
It would be fantastic to use another subtitles provider to be able to keep using VLSub :)

@Rakjlou @Nirkster They haven't, you just have to create a free account to download subtitles and you're limited to 60 downloads a day, I think. I'm working on a Vlsub replacement right now, but it won't be as a VLC extension, because the lua environment doesn't support SSL and OS api only accept https requests. If I can pull that off he new app will support a wide variety of media player including VLC while working pretty much as VLSub did.

@exebetche hey there, I think maybe we can just change to their new REST API as what they said in this post?

@renntbenrennt I would have, but as I mentioned in the previous post I can't have get AND post through https in Vlc extension environment. It doesn't let you import import external lib and writing this in pure lua is off the table.

There was a post on the VLC Forum that there was a serverside fix from OpenSubtitles.org.

Downloads are working for me now.
