On Magento ver. 2.3.5-p1 there are bugs:

When changing the Store View using the Store View switch:
• The site URL changes, but the site content does not change and the Default Store View is displayed.
• The Store View switch also remains unchanged with the Default Store View.

Old URLs do not disappear and appear along with new URLs

@Alex7Lem review your configuration, in special this:

In order for direct links to work, you must set base urls on website level.
Specified in the readme configuration: https://github.com/experius/Magento2-Module-Multiple-Website-Store-Code-Url/blob/master/README.md#configuration

In my case, this configuration solves the problem.
