What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.diskutil list
2.diskutil partitiondisk /dev/disk0 GPTFormat ZFS %noformat% 100%
3.create puddle /dev/disk0s2

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
zpool status puddle
state: ONLINE
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
74.1.0,  MAC OS 10.6.8

Please provide any additional information below.
Installed maczfs doe snot show in apps folder . So launched terminal to start 
command key

I left out that the result instead was:
You must be root in order to load the ZFS kext 
internal error: failed to initialize ZFS library

You must be root in order to load the ZFS kext//

Type in terminal: sudo -s , then your password. This will make you root... At 
least if you are administrator.
Then you can use the zpool command.

You can have the module auto-loaded at system startup, by using an appropriate 
LaunchD script.  See the FAQ entry
