using the default settings out of the box, saving paths to openscad generates files in the user extensions folder --- which is weird. in particular, they're going to

/Users/ofloveandhate/Library/Application\ Support/org.inkscape.Inkscape/config/inkscape/extensions

MacOS Ventura, 13.2.1, Inkscape 1.2.1

you can try the fork https://github.com/eridur-de/mightyscape-1.2/tree/master/extensions/fablabchemnitz/paths_to_openscad
