[firebase_ml_vision: ^0.9.7] Previous barcode automatically scans again when camera re-opens

When using firebase_ml_vision to scan barcodes with the camera, everything works fine on the initial scan. However, when I re-open the camera preview to scan a different barcode, almost immediately, the previously-scanned barcode gets re-scanned even though it's not in the viewfinder. It's as if the previous image is cached.

Any idea what can be causing the issue?
