Goal:

Add a landing page for the /tables documentation that tells users what osquery tables are and how they are used, highlight commonly used tables, and display a full list of all tables. (When we add the docs navigation bar, there will be no platform-agnostic list of tables on the page.)

We can also create categories (e.g., hardware, software, network, configuration) on the landing page, where we present a curated list of 3-4 tables per category to give users who may not know what kind of information osquery can retrieve a better of idea about what the can do with osquery.

e.g.,
Hardware:

  • battery
  • cpu_info
  • memory
  • network_interfaces

Software:

  • software
  • apps
  • services
  • running_processes

Configuration:

  • configuration_profiles
  • mdm
  • managed_policies
  • startup_items
