tailing file multiple times & the rewrite tag

Hello Fellas, I had a case that I have a log file that generates multiple types of logs that should be logged in different elasticsearch indices.
what I'm doing now is that I'm having multiple input tailing the same log file but each input set a different tag, consequently is used with a different parser, and output, my problem is that I'm facing a memory consumption issue.
I'm thinking of tailing the file just once "using one input" and use the rewrite_tag filter, but I'm trying to know if there is something easier that I can use. Does rewrite tag consume resources, so I'm not even resolving my issue in an appropriate way?
