I use rigctld from the terminal window to share multiple programs at once. Works great for me with QLog, WSJTX and another custom application I wrote to control my steppir/expert amp. Here is a reference: |

Recently started using QLog and have been very impressed - so much better than what I used before - thanks to all concerned.
Up until today had rig set up as FTDX10 (actually used FT991 Hamlib setting to get round a sideband selection issue, but that is another matter) and it connected serially via the USB port without any problems and radio responded near instantly when I clicked on entries in DX cluster or Bandmap. Great!
Today I installed flrig so that I could have WSJT-X and QLog connected to radio simultaneously.
flrig connects to radio via usb port and responds instantly to changes in radio settings and radio responds instantly to changes done on flrig.
WSJT-X connects via 127.0.0.1:12345 to flrig and it also responds immediately to changes in radio settings and radio changes instantly when changes made in WSJT-X.
Qlog also connects via 127.0.0.1:12345 to flrig and does control the radio and respond to changes at the radio, but only with a very long delay. It typically takes around 5 seconds for radio and flrig to respond when I click on bandmap or DXcluster. Radio and flrig change together (almost) but a long time after the action in QLog. Similarly QLog does respond to radio and flrig changes, but again only after several seconds.
I have poll time for flrig connection set at 500ms in QLog, but I tried reducing this to 100 ms without any noticeable difference.
Not sure if there are any other settings I could change to get round this, but it is not really very useable as it is.
I have gone back to connecting both WSJT-X and QLog directly to the radio via the serial (USB) connection but with only one connected at a time. I just disconnect the radio from QLog before starting WSJT-X and close WSJT-X before reconnecting radio.
Would be great if could get it all working as I wanted with both connected at same time and responding quickly. Any suggestions?
