It may be getting that from your rig. In your rig settings I think there
is an option to read power from the rig.

I've been running FT8 and FT4 on 10m all afternoon at 100w. My amp is

QLog is changing the PWR from 100w to 56w. In the QLog setting I have the
Rig Default PWR set for 100w. I just noticed that the Rig Windows is
showing PWR: 56W. Where is it getting the 56W from, and why is it
overwriting the log entry?

I would think that it is the actual power output at the time you click save. But I am speculating, I haven’t looked in the code.

It looks like you were right. The QSO's I've logged today are all showing 100w. Thanks!
Still leaves some questions. When that Power box is checked in the Rig setting then, I assume, QLog is pulling the power level from the radio. If that's the case, and the radio is set for 100w, then where is it getting the 56w from??

(if you are using hamlib) I've also seen some Hamlib drivers not report correct power. The ft710 was like this in previous Hamlib versions but has been fixed. You might try some standalone rigctl commands to check this. |
