LSP progress showing no icons

I have set lsp progress to show on buffer startup. This is the result-

However, there are empty boxes on most lines as shown in the above image on the left side. First of all, is this expected?
I have nerd font installed and the icons are shown everywhere else but not in this lsp progress popup. Does somebody know how to fix this?
