Many tests assume net.inet.tcp.recvspace=65536, and they break when it's a different value.

Hmm. You are right. Then it should be added to the initial section of each test. I can do that.
The idea is that all relevant sysctl values will be explicitly set to its values by each script, so that the scripts are not breaking if the defaults are different.

Which platform uses a value different from 65536? I'm testing stuff on various platforms for i386, amd64, arm, arm64, powerpc, powerpc64... and on amd64 vitualized.

Isilon OneFS. :) Of course, any sysadmin can configure a different value, so I figured this was a general problem, not just a OneFS problem.
