What is the status of the code generator? Is it actively working now? If it is working, can you give information about how it works?

Yes its working now, Issue was fixed few days back.

The ApiClient Code Generation works by running the nswag-regen.ps1 while running the api server in order to expose swagger json, if you are talking about some other code generation, I don't have any idea about it.
