I have been trying for several days now to troubleshoot compiling the havoc formware, and I am hoping some kind person may be able to help me.
Having followed the build from source instructions, step by step, I am getting to the end of the process of configuring the various requirements, then I get the following errors running cmake...
aaronplant@ubuntu:/opt/portapack-havoc/build$ cmake ..
/opt/gcc-arm-none-eabi-9-2019-q4-major/bin/arm-none-eabi-gcc: 1: /opt/gcc-arm-none-eabi-9-2019-q4-major/bin/arm-none-eabi-gcc: ELF: not found
/opt/gcc-arm-none-eabi-9-2019-q4-major/bin/arm-none-eabi-gcc: 1: /opt/gcc-arm-none-eabi-9-2019-q4-major/bin/arm-none-eabi-gcc: Syntax error: Unterminated quoted string
-- Cross-compiling with the gcc-arm-embedded toolchain
-- Toolchain prefix: /
-- The ASM compiler identification is unknown
-- Found assembler: /opt/gcc-arm-none-eabi-9-2019-q4-major/bin/arm-none-eabi-gcc
-- Warning: Did not find file Compiler/-ASM
-- dfu-suffix not found: not building DFU file
-- Warning: Did not find file Compiler/-ASM
-- Warning: Did not find file Compiler/-ASM
-- Configuring done

-- Build files have been written to: /opt/portapack-havoc/build
Now, I will admit to not being a highly experienced user, but I do have some Unix experience in my dim and distant past...but this one has got me stuck well and truly.
Next admission - I am running the recommended Ubuntu 16.04 as a virtual machine on my iMac, and as far as I can see it works fine. This has been done using Parallels desktop to create a virtual machine from the original recommended Ubuntu image.
I am logged in as a user initially, and have used the sudo command where instructed, to install the other required i.e. GCC-ARM-Embedded, Cmake and dfu_util being careful to choose the correct versions for each as instructed.
I have tried this from scratch at least 5 times now, and other than getting numerous messages due to permissions along the way, and having to use sudo to get around them, I have been unable to compile successfully. If any additional information is needed, I will gladly provide it :)
I really would be very grateful for any help, and I'm sorry if I am being stupid...but it's driving me crazy!!
Thanks in advance!
Aaron.
