Median of ImageCollection to NumPy

I can export an image to NumPy. But when I try to export the Median of an ImageCollection it does not work ? The Median looks like a single image. Any ideas ?

-> <class 'numpy.ndarray'> (1, 1, 3)

print(type(np_array), np_array.shape)

-> <class 'numpy.ndarray'> (24, 20, 3)

Using the single image gives a correct numpy array, shape(24,20,3). But using the collection_median gives a numpy array with shape (1,1,3) ?

The collection_median plots correctly.
