Observed defect
Typing in the terminal won't immediately print the typed characters in the terminal. When cmd+tab'ing to another application window, I then see what I typed print in the terminal. This is what I mean by "postponed". Printing isn't "postponed" 100% of the time, but it is very frequent: ~50%.
Repro video
macOS screen recording somehow prevents the defect from occurring which is why I made a phone recording. Here I spam my keyboard, nothing prints, click inside terminal, and everything I spammed prints out at once.

Scenarios tested
I tried this with both macOS settings for "Displays have separate Spaces", and with having the terminal visible on the primary display and secondary display. Defect observed (:bug:) in only one out of these four scenarios:
