issue with package hyperref

Hi
When I use the following code 
\usepackage{hyperref}
\hypersetup{
    colorlinks,
    citecolor=black,
    filecolor=black,
    linkcolor=black,
    urlcolor=black
}

in the preamble, the document takes a really long time to compile, and it does not produce the links. 
possible package missing?
