When I look at the README it seems you tried to minimize the length bias.

However I just ran the reference-free Metricx24-xl on the wmt23-ende src against ref (file attached)

obviously you can see there is still a huge bias, when you look at long segments (lines 361, 369, 370 ....) scores are much higher
output.json
