PACKAGE CONTENTS:
-----------------
Google Data APIs ("GData" for short) Java client provides source code and
libraries for interacting with GData-enabled services. This package includes
1. GData Java client source under "gdata/java/src".
2. GData Java client libraries under "gdata/java/lib".
3. Ant build configuration to re-compile the source code.
4. Javadoc for client source under "gdata/java/doc".
REQUIREMENTS:
-------------
GData Java Client depends on following external utilities/libraries on top of
standard Java installation.
1. Java Development Kit version 5.0 or greater. Latest version of JDK
available for download from http://java.oracle.com.
2. Apache ANT version 1.7 or greater. Apache's ANT binary is available for
download from http://ant.apache.org.
3. mail.jar in Oracle's JavaMail API (version 1.4 or greater).
Oracle's JavaMail package available for download from
"http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javamail/index.html". This is only
required for media specific APIs including Google Base data API,
Document List data API, Picasa Web Album API and YouTube data API.
4. activation.jar in Oracle's JavaBeans Activation Framewrok.
This is required only if using JDK version 1.5.
Oracle's JavaBeansActivationFramework is available for download from
"http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index-135046.html".
This is only required for media specific APIs including
Google Base data API, Document List data API, Picasa Web Album API and
YouTube data API.
5. servlet.jar in Oracle's Servlet API (version 2.3 or greater).
This is required only if executing code samples in 'sample.authsub' or
'sample.gbase.recipe' packages. Oracle's Servlet API package can be
downloaded from
"http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/index-jsp-135475.html".
6. google-oauth-client.jar in Google's OAuth Client Library for Java (version
1.8 or greater).
This is required only if using OAuth 2.0 as the authorization mechanism.
Google's OAuth Client Library fo Java can be downloaded from
"http://code.google.com/p/google-oauth-java-client/downloads/list".
INSTALLATION:
-------------
Update ant build configuration to point to right path for dependency jars.
1. Unpack gdata-src.zip package to local folder.
2. Edit the following lines in "gdata/java/build-src/build.properties"
to point to correct path for dependency jar files
activation.jar=<path to activation.jar file>
mail.jar=<path to mail.jar file>
servlet.jar=<path to servlet.jar file>
google-oauth-client.jar=<path to google-oauth-client.jar file>
3. To recompile source files, execute the ant build target
"ant -f build-src.xml" from folder "gdata/java".
