Description
What happened:
When using AWS Managed Grafana with cross-account CloudWatch access, the EC2 Instance Attributes and EBS Volume IDs query types in dashboard variables do not provide an account selector. This causes errors when trying to query resources from accounts other than the monitoring account:
Error updating options: Unexpected token 'u', "unexpected"... is not valid JSON
What you expected to happen:
To be able to select Account for the EBS Volume ID and EC2 Instance Attributes
How to reproduce it (as minimally and precisely as possible):
- Configure AWS Managed Grafana workspace with cross-account CloudWatch access
- Create a new dashboard or navigate to an existing one
- Go to settings > variables
- Create a new variable
- Variable type: Query
- For Query Select EC2 Instance Attributes or EBS Volume IDs
