Configure mimir when to write to S3

Hello,

we are running 3 grafana mimir containers on ECS, so far without issues.

The object storage is AWS S3, when we replace the containers, for example to update the mimir image version we will loose the last 6-10 hours of metrics. This is because mimir holds them in memory and is not syncing more frequently to S3.

Is there an configuration to configure this behaviour? We would like to be able to always write to S3, if possible.
