Gmail refresh - issue/feature

While this is a great extension (thank you), there is one issue that needs to be addressed. Gmail tabs take up 700+ MB of resources and are the worst of all. Suspending them for good means we won't be able to see new emails. For a work setting, it'll be important to get email updates. Although, it's not needed every second. So, I propose the following:

For tabs (like Gmail), there should be a setting to set the refresh rate. For example, I want the page to refresh after 30 minutes, stay alive for a minute and then go back to suspension. I can still see the unread email count on the tab or get a notification if I've enabled that for gmail.

But it needs a way to get updates for some tabs. If there is a better way, would love to get that.
