How to register on the SMRT portal?

When I try to register it says "error sending mail".

You have to configure Email through the admin interface prior to registering accounts. There is space for the smtp server, smtp user name and password if applicable. This is a real pain.

We could probably change the smrt portal initialisation scripts to automatically set up the details at install time, but that would require that we set up a common mail server.

We should probably have a mail server on the GVL anyway.. And maybe set it up for Galaxy user activation if required...
Maybe the new version of cloudman will have the ability to handle some custom supervisor entries etc.
