I can select it via melcloud, but the response via mqtt is "<<", but the air conditioning is correctly set to automatic.

the same behavior appears to me too. My HAVAC is an MSZ-AY series model and when I select automatic mode for the Wide Vane nothing changes in the web interface. If I use the remote control, however, it is not possible to set the Wide Vane in automatic Mode, so in my opinion it does not seem like there is an error in the code but rather a certain consistency of behavior with the functions of the remote control (even if it is not clear, at this point, the meaning of "<> position 6"). Maybe it's a function that can be used in other HAVAC models.
