Depth of Field Control #29
Comments
Making a synthetically refocused depth of field equivalent to an f-stop generally involves knowing the optics parameters of a light-field camera. If you have the parameters available, you can use the project https://github.com/hahnec/plenoptisign to find to the right rendering options for plenopticam (e.g., micro image cropping size) to mimic the f/8. |
Many Thanks - is there any method of requesting a certain number of focal point steps between zero and the focal point of the lens assembly? |
Hi again, I am also surprised to see no obvious difference in the above images. At least f/18 should have only little blur in the front. What were the equivalent micro images sizes? Also, can you provide the method how you converted the f-stop to micro image size? In general, this requires to know the focal length in mm, which is not given for the photo you provided? Have you tried to lower the micro image size, e.g. to 3 pixels? This should have an impact on the depth field. |
Is it possible to control (or estimate) the depth of field of the output images? e.g. is it possible to request an image that would be equivalent of a lens operating at f/8? or is it possible to estimate the equivalent f-stop of an output image?
