Hi there @penguin31
To find a lyrics for a song we need information like the title of the song, the names of artist and the album. Usually this metadata is stored in the file itself. For example in MP3 files ID3 container is used to store the metadata like the title, artist, album, track number and other information. A program then can read this metadata and can use this data to fetch lyrics, cover art, artist info, album info etc. but sadly in case of radio streams there is no easy way of getting this data and without the data it will be impossible to fetch the lyrics.

Similar thing is done on qmplay2.
On pmrp you catch the song title also artist and these are displayed on terminal.
I do not want to bother you but one idea.
You catch song name and artist on pmrp
With a simple routine similar with your cmos_lyrics or your cmus_lyris or with clyrics of trizen > https://github.com/trizen/clyrics (just include as much more sites to search for lyrics.
Lyrics can be saved somewhere (user solve path of dir on script)
Clementine for example has a big list of sites to search also qmplay2
Hopping that you can conclude it. After that would be no limit for pmrp .... only just one thing will miss > to download played songs from internet ! :-)
Wishing You , all the best !
