For example, std::minmax will make use of std::min and std::max.
I looked at the Possible implementation at cppreference as well as libcxx, libstdc++ and MSVC's STL. Nowhere did std::minmax make use of std::min or std::max. Instead, the overloads taking a std::initializer_list make use of std::minmax_element.
