Continue markdown lists as a default configuration

I've been really enjoying having markdown lists and blockquotes automatically continue with this config:

name = "markdown"
comment-tokens = ["-", "+", "*", "1.", ">", "- [ ]"]

We can also extend this to other languages that have lists. Such as typst, asciidoc, etc.

Should this be the default? I decided to open this discussion instead of a PR to see what people think in general. This is a great usability improvement, at least for me and some other people. I would love to see this as a default. My only concern is that it says "comment tokens" despite these not actually being comments. Thoughts?

This is very nice addition for my markdown workflow!
Thanks for this and i agree it makes sense to be the default behavior.
One question though for 1. after enter the next line starts again with 1. instead of 2.. How to make it work?

In markdown, having a list with each item prefixed with 1. will be turned into a properly ordered list by the renderer. I understand, it's not so helpful if you only work with the source document though.

This behaviour is really helpful. What I'm not sure about is, if that should be part of the Helix core or would better be accomplished by a plugin as soon as the plugin system is ready.

Plus, it only really works good in Markdown because the language has no simple comment token at all, but uses HTML comment tokens which are really bad to deal with. And by adding these tokens its not possible anymore to comment a single line by hitting space c.

This doesn't need to be a plugin, it's just a 1 line addition in the config file

Also, you can still use space C to comment. If you want to comment a line, select the line and use space C
