NVHive — End User License Agreement (EULA)

Effective Date: 2026-03-31 Version: 1.0

1. Acceptance

By installing, accessing, or using NVHive ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by this EULA. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

2. License Grant

NVHive is licensed under the MIT License for the software source code. This EULA covers the use of the NVHive service, including its integration with third-party AI providers and NVIDIA technologies.

3. NVIDIA Relationship & Trademarks

  • NVHive is an independent project. It is NOT developed, maintained, endorsed, or officially affiliated with NVIDIA Corporation.
  • "NVIDIA", "GeForce", "Linux Desktop", "Nemotron", "DGX", "NIM", and related marks are trademarks of NVIDIA Corporation.
  • NVHive uses NVIDIA technologies (CUDA, NVML, Nemotron models via Ollama, Linux Desktop detection) under their respective licenses.
  • Use of Nemotron models is subject to NVIDIA's model license terms.
  • Use of pynvml/NVML is subject to NVIDIA's NVML license.
  • NVIDIA bears no responsibility for NVHive's functionality, data handling, or any issues arising from its use.

4. Third-Party AI Providers

NVHive connects to third-party AI services ("Advisors"). By using these services through NVHive:

  • You accept each provider's Terms of Service when you add their API key.
  • Your queries are transmitted to these providers according to THEIR data policies.
  • NVHive does not modify or intercept query content beyond formatting for the provider's API.
  • API keys are stored locally on your device (OS keychain or encrypted file). NVHive does not transmit your API keys to any party other than the respective provider.

5. Data Handling

5.1 What stays on your device

  • Configuration files (~/.hive/)
  • Conversation history (SQLite database)
  • API keys (OS keychain)
  • Memory and knowledge base files
  • Cached responses
  • Ollama/Nemotron model weights

5.2 What is transmitted to third parties

  • Query text sent to the selected AI provider's API
  • When using cloud providers, your prompts are subject to that provider's data policy
  • Safe mode (nvh safe): No data leaves your device — all processing is local

5.3 What NVHive does NOT collect

  • NVHive does not operate telemetry or analytics
  • NVHive does not phone home to any NVHive server
  • NVHive does not share your data with NVIDIA or any other party
  • NVHive does not access your data for training purposes

6. Free Tier Provider Accounts

When using nvh setup to configure free-tier providers:

  • Your email address is used to create accounts on third-party platforms
  • Each provider's own privacy policy governs how they use your email
  • NVHive stores your email locally for convenience; it is NOT transmitted to NVHive servers
  • You may be subject to the provider's marketing communications (manageable via their settings)

7. Local AI (Ollama/Nemotron)

  • Local AI processing via Ollama runs entirely on your hardware
  • No query data is transmitted externally when using local models
  • Model weights are downloaded from Ollama's registry (ollama.com)
  • Nemotron models are subject to NVIDIA's model license
  • NVHive recommends local processing for sensitive data (nvh safe)

8. Disclaimer of Warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. THE AUTHORS AND CONTRIBUTORS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE USE OF THIS SOFTWARE.

AI-generated content may be inaccurate, biased, or inappropriate. Users are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI outputs before relying on them.

9. Limitation of Liability

  • NVHive is not responsible for costs incurred through third-party API usage
  • NVHive is not responsible for data breaches at third-party providers
  • NVHive is not responsible for content generated by AI models
  • Budget controls are best-effort; concurrent usage may exceed stated limits

10. Changes

This EULA may be updated. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Check the repository for the latest version.
