Hi

Is it theoretically possible that rgb2hdmi can produce 640x512 100hz output signal ?

Why exactly this resolution ? I love CRT monitors and the image from my A500 connected via a simple HDMI to VGA adapter looks great, but 50hz destroys my eyes and brain ;)

I also have a RaspberryPi with the same adapter and the emulated Amiga at 640x512 100hz has perfect image quality.

Greetings

I think it would be possible but it would depend on several things:

  1. Both 100 Hz & 120 Hz resolution profiles would have to be created (see below)
  2. The VGA converter would have to be able to convert those rates to analog which may vary depending on the model although yours seems to work.
  3. At the moment the genlock would try to slow those refresh rates down to 50Hz or 60Hz to match the incoming video as the software doesn't currently support double rate genlocking. (It does support half rate genlocking so that 25 & 30Hz outputs work)

Anyway here are a couple of resolution profiles to try:

[email protected]

Put the 50Hz one in /resolutions/50hz and the 60hz one in /resolutions/60hz on the sd card
(Both are needed for the menus to work)

After rebooting, go into the settings menu and change Genlock mode to off. Then use save configuration in the main menu to save that change.

Then change resolution to 720x576-DoubleRate and refresh to 50Hz and reboot on menu exit.
The 50Hz one should give 100Hz and the 60Hz one 120Hz

This is untested as my monitors don't seem to support 100Hz refresh

If this works I will look at adding double rate genlock support so the video will be genlocked same as 25/30Hz and 50/60Hz

Thank you for your help.
The profiles you provided worked without a problem. Except for the 120hz, but that's just too much for my monitor.

As a test, I modified the files by setting the resolution to 640x512 and now my monitor can handle a screen refresh rate of
120hz.
I use "Integer/sharp" auto scaling so at 640x512 some games (Settlers for example) have a cropped image, but it doesn't bother so much.
