Tasks don't appear square in some areas

In Canada, when I create a flight plan the tasks are visibly rectangular in the UI view.

I imagine this has to do with being far from the equator!

It would be better if the tasks are square, or alternatively if we could select both length and width so if it's rectangular it's deliberate rather than accidental!
