Most Basic Docs for Beginners

Hi Folks,
where do i find the most basic documentation for beginners?
E.g. How do i cycle through the choices available?
Example: insert shebang offers me two choices $(1|bash,sh|), but how do i select the second one?

Where is a good starting point for these kind of beginner questions?
