so i made this thing that changes the youtube logo to the premium one and also blocks all the ads
open chrome://extensions, turn on developer mode, click load unpacked, pick this folder
that's it
swaps the regular red logo for the premium one. also kills every ad, video ads, the ones in the middle, banners, sponsored stuff in the feed, whatever youtube throws at you
there's also a popup where you can toggle features on or off, plus a picture-in-picture button that shows up in the video player so you can watch videos in a floating window while doing other stuff
oh and it auto-scrolls through shorts when they end, even if the tab's in the background so you can just chill and listen
i basically copied how adguard blocks stuff (chrome's declarativerequest api) and added some css hiding and dom removal on top to catch anything that slips through
this isn't from google or youtube, just something me (and ofcourse claude) made for fun. use it if you want but don't blame me if something breaks
the youtube logo is google's trademark obviously
