Zano Linux --deeplink-params #490
Comments
Is this the right place to post issues? Your Linux build literally self destructs right now. |
@zquestz Yes, this is the correct place, as well as Discord and Telegram groups. @SergeyZano could you please confirm this issue on your side? |
In connection to this issue, please can you take a look into this #487 (comment) |
The desktop file is in the correct folder but it writes an invalid Exec command. The icon technically should be in pixmaps, and not litter the applications directory. However the main issue in this ticket has nothing to do with that other issue. |
@sowle The issue is still relevant. The application does not launch from the launcher. |
Might be related, Zano creates a 2nd .desktop file upon every launch. I have duplicate Zano shortcuts in my Gnome applications menu. |
After you launch Zano the first time, it tries to add two files to enable it in your application launcher.
~/.local/share/applications/Zano.png and ~/.local/share/applications/Zano.desktop
Unfortunately the Zano.desktop file it writes includes --deeplink-params="%u", which completely breaks opening the app from the application launcher.
By default %u will be empty, as there is no deep link, and then it will fail the params check.
I am pretty sure --deeplink-params needs to allow an empty value, and then do a no-op in the code.
