Hi, I'm not really sure if this is the right place to report this. But I noticed that "ultrawide" is hyphenated as ul-tra-w-ide, which definitely sounds wrong to me. Merriam-Webster hyphenates it as "ul-tra-wide". By itself, "wide" is correctly without hyphens.

MWE:

\documentclass{article}
\usepackage[english]{babel}
\begin{document}
	\showhyphens{ultrawide}
	\showhyphens{wide}
\end{document}

Running this with latex example.tex prints

Underfull \hbox (badness 10000) in paragraph at lines 13--13
[] \OT1/cmr/m/n/10 ul-tra-w-ide

Underfull \hbox (badness 10000) in paragraph at lines 14--14
[] \OT1/cmr/m/n/10 wide

in the terminal.

Thank you for the report, the error is a bit embarrassing. It is caused by the pattern aw3i that is not cancelled by an inhibiting pattern.

Unfortunately the patterns themselves are unlikely to be updated, for compatibility reasons, but I’ll report the error to the TUGboat editors so they can update the hyphenation exception log.

Thanks! Out of curiosity, where can I find the list of exceptions? And what is the way to contact its maintainers, is it through some mailing list? I'm wondering in case I want to report something like this again in the future.
