Welcome

  • Yes, I'm using the latest major release or the current development version. These are the only supported versions.
  • Yes, I've searched similar issues and discussions on GitHub and didn't find any.

Current Behavior

I am running i3 as a WM in KDE Plasma and when opening KRunner the border of the previously opened window just disappears.

Expected Behavior

The border should stay as there is nothing of the contrary stated in my i3 config file.

Reproduction Instructions

I followed these instructions: https://github.com/heckelson/i3-and-kde-plasma on getting an i3 Plasma setup. Open any window with a border. Then open KRunner (or any other Plasma native Popup, like volume and brightness). The border on the previously focused window will disappear.

i3 version

Binary i3 version: 4.23 © 2009 Michael Stapelberg and contributors

Loaded i3 config:

I don’t see a link to logs.i3wm.org. Did you follow https://i3wm.org/docs/debugging.html? (In case you actually provided a link to a logfile, please ignore me.)
