Hi.

I recently noticed that OCAT does not download the latest available version of the HFS+ driver. The latest one availaabls is from January 2023:

https://github.com/acidanthera/OcBinaryData/blob/master/Drivers/HfsPlus.efi

But OCAT downloads one from September 2022:

If I replace the driver manually with the newest one from OcBinaryData, OCAT says it is outdated:

I don't know why it does this, but maybe you want to look into it.

Greetings

This is a known issue, because OCAT is not currently fetching these drivers automatically (https://github.com/acidanthera/OcBinaryData/), you have to get them manually.

Also, you can use the latest HfsPlus.efi file to put under ".ocat/Database/EFI/OC/Drivers/" to synchronize the HfsPlus.efi file inside the upgrade database, so that OCAT will not prompt that this file is out of date.

Given that installing macOS on a PC will not be possible in the future, OCAT will probably not make any further improvements on this issue, such as getting these drivers automatically.

Finally, thanks for your suggestion. Hackintosh will be history, we can't change that fact.

Microsoft is developing ARM processors scsheduled for a release in 2024. So maybe there's still hope…

Thanks for the tip about placing the HFS+ Driver in the database
