Commoner

"Help! Help! I'm being repressed!"

Most towns people are full of totally common folk. These are people with the Commoner class, and they fill the background of all sorts of scenes. They're pretty useless, but some people try to make them do work, while others try to save them from having to do too much work. All the while, commoners never have much say in the matter.

Commoners in the Game: Commoners aren't playable as PCs. They lack depth, and are generally intended to only represent the teeming masses of the world that the heroes will meet as they go on their travels.

Hit Die: d4

Class Skills: Craft, Profession, and Survival.

Skill Points Per Level: Commoners have 2 + IntMod skills at max ranks, and they do not track individual ranks.

BAB: Low

Saves: All Poor

Class Features

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Commoners are proficient with any simple weapons associated with their general job (knives, pitchforks, clubs, hammers, etc). They aren't proficient with armor or shields.

Common Array: Commoners generally have the following stat array: 11, 11, 11, 10, 10, 10

Minorly Durable (Ex): Commoners are intended to be simple, and so they don't get feats. Instead, for each feat that they would get, a Commoner has +1 hit point.

Regularly Conscripted (Ex): Commoners of 2nd level gain proficiency with Light armor and with polearms of all sorts.

Common Cause (Ex): Commoners of 3rd level can Take 10 with Aid Another checks, either in combat or outside of combat.

Trading Out Commoner Levels: If a commoner becomes a major character and accepts the heroes call, they should become 1st level in a PC class.
