Linear Power User Support

Linear has several key entities from Teams, Initiatives, Projects, Milestones and Tasks and everyone also has custom labels and statuses. I've struggled with the linear API not supporting all of this, (or maybe just MCP supporting this?)

I love how iloom helps track individual issues/tasks but would like for it to allow grouping at the higher levels of milestones, and projects. Projects in particular usually need a PRD.

Another thing I'd love is for AI to automatically put project updates together. All projects in linear can take project wide updates. If we could coalesce all the stuff iloom is doing into simplier summaries or utilize the project updates as another form of memory, it could be really good.

Thanks!! Some notes/thoughts:

• Project PRDs as Global Context: il start pulls the parent Project description or Docs to ground the Enhance and Analyze phases. This keeps the agents from planning in a vacuum. One concern: this could blow up context usage - wondering if an agent could pull this and summarize vs just injecting the PRD verbatim. Or use RAG.
• Bidirectional sync for sub-tasks: Automating the hierarchy so the file system matches the issue graph.
  • CLI to Linear: If I run il start <new-task> --child-loom inside a loom, it automatically creates the task as a sub-issue in Linear.
  • Linear to CLI: If I il start <task-id> and it's already a sub-issue, iloom detects the parent and prompts to create it as a Child Loom in the correct nested directory.
• Better integration with project lifecycle: Since Linear doesn't respond to "Fixes [Issue ID]" keywords like GitHub does, iloom can handle those status transitions and labels directly during il finish.

By the way - iloom uses the Linear SDK (which uses the GraphQL API) not the MCP
