500 Internal Server Error when trying to fetch any document with a an mp4 in it's media field

Very good plugin, it is exactly what i'm looking for.

However I'm getting a 500 issue whenever i am trying to fetch a document that has an mp4 file in it. 

Interestingly, it seems to work if you do not include populate parameters. However then you don't get the data you require.
