For users that are using the beta timeline, please update your server to v1.138.0 so that the sync mechanism can work correctly. v1.138.0 of the mobile app doesn’t sync the data correctly if your server is v1.137.2 or below.

Reset PIN code with password

In order to reset a forgotten PIN code, the admin user used to have to click the “Reset PIN code” button for the user. Now, users can reset their own PIN code by supplying their current password.

Note: when password login is disabled, this option is unavailable.

Reset OAuth ID

Immich stores some configuration in the database to keep track of which OAuth accounts are linked to which Immich users. When migrating to a new authentication system or provider, this configuration becomes invalid and can prevent the user from logging in with the new system. A button and accompanying reminder now exists in the OAuth settings to clear or reset this configuration for all users.

Since this latest upgrade, I'm getting 503 errors when trying to use the web UI.

My container seems to start fine, and there are no errors in the immich_server logs.

The UI gives me this:

I use a reverse proxy, I believe, for what it's worth.

I had this on the last update. Restarting the reverse proxy seemed to resolve it. Might have been coincidence, so not sure.

Hi! Possible privacy issue with Locked Folder and Favorites
I’m not sure if this is already known or if you plan to address it, but I’ve noticed the following behavior:
If a photo is added to the Locked Folder and also marked as a Favorite, it will still appear in the Favorites tab even when the Locked Folder is not unlocked.
I’m not sure what the best approach would be - either hiding it from Favorites entirely, or still showing it but with a lock icon instead of the preview, and prompting for PIN/biometrics when tapped.

When can we get the update on F-Droid?

I am running Immich on TrueNAS SCALE 25.04.0 using the official TrueNAS SCALE App (via ix-apps).
I performed the update and the stack broke and the application does not come back online.
In Portainer the Immich Stack is gone and so are all immich containers, in the Images Tab I see some of the new Images.
App Rollback dose not work because Immich isnt up and running

It looks like some kind of Time-out problem.

It is the 2nd time this is happening to my Immich Stack and I am not able to recover it correctly.

The Update Job fails with this Error:

Is this a known issue with the Immich TrueNAS App or with the way SCALE renders the docker-compose.yaml during upgrades?
Do you have recommendations on how to recover it and make the app upgrade-safe (so that updates don’t break the entire stack every 2nd update)?

A little concerning that there's a "Breaking Changes" line, but no real explanation. The "fix" breaks... what? I clicked the link to the issue and still unclear.

What does this break? What do I need to check/change/watch for?

An important notice about a version mismatch isn't the same thing as a breaking change. And isn't that really saying, "while you're updating the server with this update, be sure to update your server with this update"?

It is a breaking change for us because we usually maintain backwards compatibility for multiple versions, so this is out of the ordinary and important to note.

There is a difference between what we assign in the changelog on the pull request and what we write up manually in the release notes for everyone to see.

I agree. Just saying clarity could be improved. Up until now, breaking change required the user to examine their compose and/or .env file. This, on the other hand, is just stating it is important to have the app and server versions synced, and if you're reading the notes then you're in the middle of doing that 😁. That's not really true. Plenty of breaking changes have nothing to do with the compose file at all.

Whenever an update could break something we try to call that out at the top of the release notes. It doesn't feel right to have a big banner for a feature that is already in beta though. The name implies breaking changes and potential issues. For users not using it, this release is not breaking.
