__INTLIFY_JIT_COMPILATION__ not being set in Quasar

As per https://vue-i18n.intlify.dev/guide/advanced/optimization#configure-feature-flags-for-bundler, I'm trying to set the __INTLIFY_JIT_COMPILATION__ flag within a quasar app.

quasar.config.js

const { configure } = require('quasar/wrappers')

module.exports = configure(function (/* ctx */) {
    return {
       ...
        build: {
           ...
           env: {
              __INTLIFY_JIT_COMPILATION__ : true
           }
     }

However within vue-i18n.js it's clear that this flag is still false. Why is the variable not being picked up?

I managed to answer my own question by using build.rawDefine instead of env.

   return {
       ...
        build: {
           ...
           rawDefine: {
              __INTLIFY_JIT_COMPILATION__ : true
           }
     }
